Teaching Learning and Technology

Library Equipment

  • The Library provides access to flat-bed and slide scanners as well as a large-size scanner and a book scanner. Printers can also be used to scan materials and send them via email.
  • We also have XGA projectors, laptops, VHS and DVD players (one is blu-ray player)  that can be reserved for your class presentations as well as a large LCD screen and a stand-alone screen that can be used in the small seminar room or checked out. The Littman Library has a limited number of projectors and laptops, additional equipment is available through NJIT's Classroom Technology and Support.

  • An instruction session on how to use this equipment can be arranged upon request.

Placing materials on reserve

  • To request materials to be placed on reserve, contact the library in person or by email (littmanlibrary@njit.edu). Previously existing reserves can also be reactivated on demand. The reserves can be found on the library website by searching the course number, name, or faculty name.

Subject Guide

Using AI

It is critical to remember that AI is a tool, not a replacement for human thought. It can be used to inspire ideas, suggest sources, and serve as a time-saving assistant, enhancing the process, but not as an unquestionable authority. It is critical to remember to cite sources, including AI-generated work, respect copyright, and follow NJIT guidelines for AI usage. Cross-check facts with peer-reviewed and/or authoritative sources. Learn to write clear, specific, and purposeful prompts. Maintain the ability to locate, read, and interpret original academic works. Treat AI output as raw material for further development, not as a final product
