Virtual Library Support

Effective on March 14, 2022, face masks are optional while using the Van Houten or Littman Libraries. However, per University policy regarding instructional spaces, masks must be worn in Van Houten Library's room CAB 1050.

There library is open to the NJIT community and members of the public. View library hours

• Information Commons Computer Lab is available with 100+ public computers and 4 printers.
• Students have Remote Access to selected public computer labs 24/7 even when the library is closed.
• Group Study Rooms are available by Online Reservation when the Van Houten Library is open. 
• No eating in the library.

You can chat, text or email with library staff daily! During the Spring Semester, we are available Monday to Thursday 10 am - 7 pm, and Friday 10am - 5pm.

ONLINE RESOURCES

• Access to all online content, interlibrary loan, course support, reference, chat, and self-help are available online from our Van Houten library homepage or the Littman Library homepage.

BOOKS

• If you need a print book contact your liaison librarian, or Littman Library liaison librarian. We will attempt to find an electronic substitute.
• No overdue fines.

SERVICES

• Van Houten Library is open for in-person and virtual services. Check the website for updated library hours.
• Interlibrary Loan is operating for article and book chapter requests that can be filled electronically.  Print books and other physical materials loan services are also available. 
• Self-Help is available through online FAQs, Research Guides, and Tutorials.
• Virtual Research Consultation, Reference, and Course Support are all available remotely.  Contact your liaison librarian via email or chat.
