Off Campus Access: VPN

Install VPN Client:

• If you have not installed Cisco AnyConnect VPN, instructions can be found here: https://ist.njit.edu/vpn.
• The first time you connect to a service requiring a VPN, your device's AnyConnect client may automatically be updated. This will often require a reboot. If you do not reboot, your network connection may not work.

Connect VPN Client:

1. Open the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client on your device.

• The default address in the Mobility Client pop-up window displays vpn.njit.edu
• Remove the default service name (vpn.njit.edu) and enter libraryvpn.njit.edu
• Click the “Connect” button to continue

2. Enter your UCID and password in the Webauth Authentication Service pop-up browser when prompted.

3. You will automatically be sent a “Check for a Duo Push” message (this would send a challenge request to your chosen device - e.g., mobile phone).

4. Once you choose your preferred Duo Authentication challenge, respond typically. You should now be connected to the VPN to access the library resources. NOTE: If you do not wish to use the "Push" option, click the "Other options" link within the window and receive a list of other log in options.

5. You should now be connected to a VPN full tunnel safely and securely!
