Find a Book in the NJIT Library: Book Search by Subject

Learn how to find a specific book in the NJIT Library

How do academic libraries classify books?

Library materials are classified according to the Library of Congress (LC) system. LC assigns call numbers, which we use to shelve the books, by subjects. We use LC Subject Headings in our online catalog. Learning to use them can help you save time and find books you might not get using only keyword searches.

Welcome

Viewers will learn advanced searching using Subject Headings. This is an effective technique that can be using in databases and the online library catalog.
