What is Embedded Librarianship?
Embedded librarianship is when a librarian and/or library resources and services are integrated directly into your course. This provides a more thorough alternative than the traditional one-shot lectures that librarians provide about using the library and its databases. With embedded librarianship, the librarians can provide much more for your students with less time and effort.
For those who still wish to use in-person classes about the library, embedded librarianship can still be useful. With embedded librarianship, the librarian can create a more focused lecture that better caters to your students' needs, rather than a blanket basic overview of the library.
We also offer a complete course in Canvas about using and evaluating library sources and information. Learn more under this guide's tab, 'Using Library Sources: A Canvas Course for Students.'
