The NJIT Library for Students course is designed to teach students how to find, evaluate, and citepeer-reviewed information for their research. It was created by the reference and instruction librarians at NJIT to provide a large amount of information about using library resources to the classrooms without the need for scheduling in-person classroom sessions.
It is divided into 5 modules:
Question formulation
Types of Resources
Search Strategies
Evaluating Sources
The Practice of Citation
This course may be used as a standalone self-learning course in how to conduct library research, but individual modules may also be incorporated by instructors within other courses. It's up to the instructor how much/little of the course they would like to use. You are not obligated to use all of it! Modules can also be modified for your particular course.
