• Choose the database or databases you would like to search. For the examples below a search in Academic Search Premier is shown.
• Enter your search terms into the search box.
  • Note: If you are on a tight deadline and only want to see articles you can access immediately, select the Online full text and/or At my library buttons.
• Here is an example search on recycling:

• recycling AND (barriers OR obstacles OR challenges)

• If you would like more structure and filter options before you see results, you can use the Advanced Search feature.
• You can add rows and choose a Boolean operator (AND, OR, NOT) and select which fields you would like to search.
  • Note: You do not have to use parenthesis around OR conditions in the advanced search if they are grouped together in one field.

Copy-and-paste version of search:

• recycling AND (barriers OR obstacles OR challenges)

• You can narrow results by adding information to the search, such as additional keywords or author names.
• You can also refine your search by including information from the filters panel. Select the All filters button below the search bar to add or remove filters.
