Library Services for Faculty and Instructors

This is a very brief introduction to services offered to faculty and instructors, more information can be found on the Littman library web site
  • Faculty can schedule a consultation with a librarian to learn more about library services, procedures, and collections.
  • Read about library borrowing policies
  • Get help with identifying and locating materials for research and teaching
  • Request  books, articles, images and other documents to be placed on regular or electronic reserves for classes. It can be done in person, by Email ( maya.gervits@njit.edu)  or by submitting online a list of materials. A previous reserve can be re-activated on demand.
  • Schedule a general or course specific  instruction for classes to help students to learn how to find, evaluate and use resources available in the library and online for their projects. Contact  librarians by e-mail, by phone, or in person.
  • Those who use Moodle can request an information literacy materials to be included in their  course management system ?
  • Request a demonstration on how to use  any discipline-specific database.
  • Reserve equipment for class presentations. ( An instruction session on how to use this equipment can be arranged upon request made in advance). Littman Library has a limited number of projectors and laptops, additional equipment is available at Media Services
  • Alerting service: ask Maya to be notified by e-mail about new titles in your field
  • Suggest materials for the collection
  • If the library does not own a book or a periodical that you need consider requesting ut via Interlibrary loan ( to receive a book) or Rapid Document Delivery ( for articles). You can also borrow materials from any VALE institution libraries
  • If you want to use books and journals during your class reserve a study space in the library that provides a large screen and interenet connection.
