CAB 1050: Information Literacy Training Lab: Home

This guide provides information for the use of CAB 1050, the Van Houten Library's Instruction Room, for NJIT Librarians and faculty of the Martin Tuchman School of Management.

About CAB 1050

Equipment training is required before CAB 1050 can be accessed and used. Fill out a request form to schedule a training session.

The Information Literacy Training Lab is available only by reservation.

Equipment:

  • 1 overhead projector
  • Projector screen (dropdown)
  • 24 computer workstations
  • 1 teaching table (teaching computer is connected to projector)
  • 2 display monitors
Priority of use is given to the Librarians and teaching faculty of MTSM for conducting training sessions and meetings.

How to Access CAB 1050:

  • If authorized, use your NJIT ID card to swipe for access or
  • Visit the Van Houten Library's Circulation Desk to request access to the room.

Quick Start Instructions

To Project Desktop from Teaching Computer to Projector:

  • Hold down the "Windows" button and the "P" to display the projector dialog box.
  • The dialog box shows 4 options (PC Screen Only, Duplicate, Extend, Second Screen Only)
  • Select the "Duplicate" option if you want the content from your PC visible on the projector screen.

When Done Using the Room You Must:

  • Log off
  • Turn off the projector to prevent the bulb from burning out
  • Close the projector screen
