Try these bonus exercises to learn more of how Zotero can  help you organize and manage citations. 

Add a webpage to your collection 

1. Go to a website 
2. Click on the little blue folder on your browser’s menu bar
3. Select the collection to which you want to save it 
4. Go to the collection to see what happened. Is it OK? Websites sometimes have incomplete citation information.

Add an item using a DOI or ISBN 

1. For this exercise, here’s a DOI to use: 10.1007/JHEP11(2012)047 
2. Go to Zotero and click the Magic Wand icon – just above your collection 
3. Type or paste the DOI into the box 
4. The item will be entered into your Zotero collection

Add a patent 

1. Go to Google Patents

2. Search for your favorite food

3. Find a fun patent and click on it

4. Click the little light bulb in your menu bar

1. Go to the NJIT Library Website

2. Choose books from the search options

3. Search for your favorite food.
