Architectural Design Competitions: Ideas and Presentations: Finding Information on Architects

Information on Architects

To find information on architects, you can use various resources, both in print and available online. Our guide "How to find information on architects" will provide more specific suggestions on available materials and on how to formulate a proper search strategy. Below are a few selected reference publications that can be used as a source of information on architects and architectural firms. In addition, you can search the online catalog to find more encyclopedias, architectural histories, surveys and bio-bibliographies. To find monographs, use the architect's or firm's name as subject headings or as a key word.

Very often articles are the only source of information. Read the pages "Articles" , "Tutorials" and "Using Databases in Architectural Research" to learn more about how to use databases and especially Avery Index for your research.

Architect's or architectural firm's websites can provide important information or link to other materials. Also do not underestimate video recordings and podcasts, some of which you can find on the page "Videos & Web Resources".
