Creating Alerts: Introduction

An alert is a search run automatically and periodically against a database.

The results are sent to you via email.

Most databases require the following steps:

  • Register for a free account with the database, publication, or website
  • Create a search for the subject, author, or article you want to watch.
  • Look for the option to save as an alert.
  • Usually there is a way to specify how often you want the search run.
