Mission

The mission of the Association of Architecture School Librarians Professional Development Committee, for those who may not be familiar with us, is to provide a forum for both specialists in architectural librarianship and related fields as well as for those pursuing careers in architecture librarianship. The committee promotes professional standards and provides access to a variety of resources related to continuing education and career opportunities, current and emerging practices, professional associations, conferences, seminars and exhibitions. It also introduces reference materials concerned with collection development, cataloging, instruction services, management and other aspects of the profession. These resources, both in print and available online, can guide the librarians and students, and will enable them to expand their knowledge base. To facilitate various mentoring activities, the committee investigates best practices in this area as well. Information on grants enable librarians to pursue innovative projects and practices.
