Architectural Design Competitions: Ideas and Presentations: Conducting Research

Conducting Research

To write your papers or prepare your presentations you will need to conduct research. It will involve finding information on specific architects, time periods, or particular design competition.  You will need to use a variety of sources: books, journals, databases, collections of images, archival documents, both prints and available online.  Two guides "How to research a building"  and "How to Find Information on Architects" were designed to assist you in developing an appropriate search strategy. Below you will find just a few selected books that can help you to start your research or offer examples of architectural analysis. More titles are listed in guides or can be found by searching online catalog.
